Our Vision: One Church for All People
We are committed to experiencing the transformative power of the gospel in our church and in our community. In the second chapter of Ephesians, Paul describes the vertical and horizontal dimensions of this gospel transformation. In Christ, we are reconciled to God as we are made alive by His grace through faith. In Christ, we are also reconciled to one another as we who were once strangers are now members of the same family.
In His good design, God is now forming one new humanity out of all the peoples of the world. Where our culture tries to create suspicion, hostility, and division, we reflect the warmth of God's love, mercy, and reconciliation to everyone. In this hope, our desire is to be one church for all people. We aim to reflect the beauty of God's multicultural and multigenerational kingdom within our congregation so the world will know that Jesus is Lord.
Our Mission: We exist to advance the gospel in Lonsdale by making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Located just a mile northwest of downtown Knoxville, Lonsdale is an ethnically diverse community with a dynamic cultural history. Today, Lonsdale is home to both Hispanic and African immigrants as well as Caucasian and African American residents, among others.
Lonsdale Community Church is strategically situated within the heart of Lonsdale to reach our neighbors with the good news of the gospel. We believe God can transform individuals and entire communities by His grace and for His glory. It is our desire to love and serve Lonsdale toward this end.
